Undergraduate

The University of São Paulo offers undergraduate courses in all areas of knowledge. All are free of charge and last from four to six years. It is worth remembering that most of USP activities are carried out in Portuguese.

How to study at USP

Students from all over the world interested in applying to take undergraduate courses may take part in the USP entrance test (called “vestibular”), which is organized by Fuvest. All the exams are held in Portuguese, and in Brazil.

Sisu is an unified selection system organized by the Ministry of Education by which public institutions of higher education, as USP, offer vacancies to candidates participating in the National High School Examination (Enem).

The Program for Partner Undergraduate Students (PEC-G, the portuguese acronym) is a cooperation program between Brazil and countries in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Transfer from other higher education institutions (either Brazilian or foreign) is only possible when unfilled places are available. The admission process takes place via pre-selection and specific examinations, both applied by Fuvest

Students benefiting from enrollment on the basis of the diplomatic courtesy policy are exempt from the entrance examination, and USP may accept enrollment under some circumstances

The University offers a number of exchange places for students from partner universities from all around the globe.
